FLAMES Engine

Home / Products / FLAMES Engine

The FLAMES Engine is a set of applications (executable programs) that allow you to create, execute, visualize, and control FLAMES® scenarios. When they start, these applications dynamically load any specified set of FLAMES component plugins to allow you to simulate almost any system in almost any scenario imaginable.

Component plugins are required to create scenarios and are not included with the FLAMES Engine. Several plugins are included in the content available in the FLAMES Store. You can also develop your own plugins using the FLAMES Developer.

Included with FLAMES Engine

Standard Applications – Three full-featured, easy-to-use applications loaded with many powerful features allow you to create, execute, visualize, and control FLAMES scenarios.

  • FORGE – FORGE™ is an powerful, easy-to-use graphical application that can create, execute, visualize, and control FLAMES scenarios
  • FIRE – FIRE™ is a non-graphical application that can execute FLAMES scenarios in batch mode
  • FLASH – In playback mode, FLASH™ can visualize a completed scenario using a playback file that was created by FORGE or FIRE. In monitor mode, FLASH can visualize and control a scenario that is being executed by FORGE or FIRE

Terrain Importers – Three terrain data importers to import various types of terrain data into the FLAMES Scenario Database

Icon Editors – Applications that create and edit icons that are used to represent scenario players in the FORGE and FLASH 2D and 3D displays

FLAMES Documentation Set – The entire set of all 30+ FLAMES manuals, including the manuals for FLAMES Developer

Content – Download a wide variety of components, scenarios, and additional documentation from the FLAMES Store

Optional Products – Purchase one or more of the available optional products to support advanced simulation requirements

Custom Component Plugins – Use the FLAMES Developer to develop your own custom component plugins and simulate almost any type of system you can image

Licensing

Trial versions of the FLAMES Engine and most of the FLAMES Options are included with the FLAMES Developer. These trial versions are fully functional, but they have limited capacity, and they may be used only for development and evaluation purposes.
