FLAMES Launcher

Home / FLAMES Overview / FLAMES Launcher

The FLAMES Launcher

The FLAMES® Launcher is a free desktop application that must be installed on a computer in order to download and install FLAMES products and content. The FLAMES Launcher includes:

The FLAMES Store

The FLAMES Store is the place to find and acquire FLAMES products and FLAMES content. The Store is available in the FLAMES Launcher and here on the website.

Library

The Library section of the Launcher allows you to view, download, and install the FLAMES items that you have purchased from the FLAMES Store.

Projects

The Projects section of the Launcher manages your FLAMES “projects”. A project is associated with a project directory on your computer where downloaded content is installed, including component plug-ins and example scenarios. All custom software development activities performed using the FLAMES Developer are also performed on files located in a given project directory.

FLAMES applications can also be started from a project within the Project section of the Launcher. This is the most convenient way to start FLAMES applications in part because the Launcher automatically defines all of the environment variables that are needed by each application.
